The airport also will close at 1700 hours on Sunday, August 26 for personal business. Bob Stetson will reopen it the following morning.

Secretary Minutes – One correction to July minutes: “Bob Stetson reported the sad news of the passing of both Steve Miller’s father-in-law and charter member Bob Savageau, and, of Steve's mother, Anna Miller.” Minutes approved with that correction.

Upcoming speakers – September’s speaker is Bob Keith from Dartmouth, with a “potpourri” of interesting flying stories.

Membership report: No update.

Young Eagles Report – Twelve Young Eagles will fly on Wednesday, Aug. 15. None scheduled for this Saturday.

Newsletter Report – Next issue in September. There was a question of when board member contributions will print. Agreed to stick with current deadlines for submissions. Articles will not necessarily be printed in that issue if space is tight, but if delayed, will definitely appear in the following issue. Time-critical articles will be printed immediately.

Trailer Education Program – Next meeting will be on September 8 at 9:30AM. The topic will be winds and take-off & landing performance at 9B1.

New Business – Make an effort to contact your representatives in support of Bill 2881. Letters should be sent out instead of emails since they are much more effective.

Air Day was originally scheduled for this coming Saturday, Aug. 18th. Because many will not be able to attend, the chapter decided to postpone the event to the weekend of Oct 7. Sandy will confirm with Bob Stetson whether it should be held on Saturday or Sunday. The logistics will be discussed during next month’s chapter meeting. An email notification of the postponement will be sent out to all the chapter members by Ken Sherman as soon as the new date is confirmed. Ken will also attach the fly-out information (Deb Cahill will provide the attachment with the info).

No date yet has been set for the Air Rally.

Toys for Tots: Beverly submitted a request via the website to hold it on Dec. 2. No response yet.

The yard sale is postponed to next year (either Spring or Fall).
