Mail-in information - Beverly distributed a letter from BuildAPlane, a non-profit organization devoted to help kids learn science, technology and engineering by building real planes, requesting donations. Chapter member Doug Stone was unable to attend tonight and sent an email asking if anyone is interested in joining him when he drives to Hampton, NH, this Saturday to the Fly Market to sell plane parts. Beverly also passed around some information material about Air Venture 2008 and on the EAA SportAir Workshop, a new course on building airplanes offered on June 28-29 in North Andover.

News from around 9B1 - Bob Stetson urged all members to write or get on the phone to call immediately our elected Senate and House representatives in a last minute effort to convince them to remove the provision that repeals the sales tax exemption on airplanes and airplane parts from the budget that was recently approved in the House. Our reps must be made aware that this decision is shortsighted and that the revenue gained by adopting this measure is much less than the revenue that will be lost by the aviation businesses that will have no choice but fly out of state. The survival of airports like Marlboro depends on our action.

We have a new private pilot on the field! Dave Eycleshymer passed his check-ride on April 13. Congratulations!

I learned about flying from that - Dudley Darling shared information on a runway incursion information evaluation program (at a towered field).

Old business - Replacement windows for the trailer are on hold indefinitely.

The yard sale is postponed to June 21st to give Paula and Shirlee more time to sort and price items. A postcard and email will be sent out to advise of the date change. The Oldest Established Permanent Impromptu Memorial Day Cookout will be held on May 26th.

Chapter website: members should send chapter web editor Ken Sherman their suggestions on what changes to make to the site to make it more functional. Beverly handed a web editing software program called Web Easy to Dudley to give it to Ken.

New business - Officers and Board Members term expires this year. Christine Pulliam and Dudley Darling expressed interest in running for the positions of President and Vice President respectively Anyone interested in running for any of the other positions should let Beverly know.

50/50 Raffle: George Seaman won $6 and donated it back to the chapter.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:49.
