News from around 9B1. It is time again to remind everyone about the GA Secure Program offered by AOPA and to make sure we know at all times who is on the field. Please wear your ID badges!
Remember that Norwood Airport (OWD) is having ramp work done resulting in a shortage of transient parking spots. Also, when filing a VFR Flight Plan, its intent is primarily for Search and Rescue. Flight following for all intents and purposes will do the same. However, if comm is lost, you will welcome the backup of a VFR Plan. Make sure to open with FSS prior or immediately upon commencing your flight. Approach may not want to take the time to open the plan for you, instead opting for “ VFR flight following.”
